TRA Inaugurates the Internet Show 2010

As a part of its strategy to actively engage in the ICT related events regionally and globally, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) Director General Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim inaugurates today the Internet Show Middle East 2010. The two-day event starts on September 21st, 2010 till 22nd, in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC).

With more than 40 seminars covering many aspects of the internet businesses solutions, the agenda of the Internet Show 2010 will address a number of topics including digital advertising & marketing, web 2.0 & social networking, e-commerce & payment, and content management and streaming and infrastructure.


H.E. Mohamed Al Ghanim, TRA director General commented on the TRA participation saying: “The TRA is keen to join all the events that would add value to the ICT sector in the UAE. We are pleased to be part of the Internet Show 2010 and hope that all participants attain the greatest benefit out of it.”


Eager to find new ways of achieving business on the internet, the internet Show 2010 gathers small and medium sized businesses along with government entities. It specifically sheds light on developing innovative ways to enhance e-business, deploying new applications to recruit new customers, retain and up sell existing customers and empower and manage staff.

Since its inception, the TRA adopted a strategy that encourages investments and ensures business growth in the ICT sector. Either by adopting the latest technologies or diversifying and improving services, the authority managed to establish strong IT infrastructure that facilitates the growth of the e-commerce environment within the UAE.


Yet, during the past decade, the internet business witnessed significant increase globally, where it became a key player in many fields. The UAE was among the countries that paid attention to the telecommunication technology infrastructure; a clear indication that the UAE Government aiming to build a flexible knowledge-based economy with focus on innovation and excellence.
