Considered a vital forum to showcase the latest trends and technologies, the Middle East Communications Exhibition & Conference 2007 (MECOM), attracted some of the most important players and professionals from the telecommunications and IT communications sector.  Key local, regional and international regulatory authorities, operators and companies such as the UAE TRA, Etisalat, Du, Thuraya, Alcatel-Lucent, ZTE, Motorola, Ericsson, Cisco, Radius and Jaybeam were present at the event.
 
The exhibition was held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre on April 22 – 25, 2007. The show also featured a high profile conference for the telecommunications industry, and seminars on the latest advances in communications technology for enterprise application. The encompassed eminent speakers such as Mohamed Al Ghanim, Director General – TRA (UAE), Mohammed Al Qamzi, CEO – Etisalat, Osman Sultan, CEO – Du, Olivier Campenon, VP (Europe) and President (EMEA) – BT, Harri Koponen, CEO and GM – Wataniya Telecom, and others. Key issues addressed included privatization; government policy; competition; regulation and licensing; and the convergence of Telecommunications, media and ICT.
