Both “etisalat” and “du” have complied with the TRA Directive No (3) of 2007, which mandated notification by SMS to their respective mobile subscribers of the retail roaming prices once they reach another country.
In this respect, H.E. Mohamed Al Ghanim, TRA Board Member and Director General, stated: “One of the TRA goals is to ensure that telecommunication consumers have price transparency. This Directive was issued to enable consumers to easily know the price of roaming services and to make informed choices about which operator to select, in order to get the best price.”
The notification process has been scheduled to begin on the 31st of December 2007.
