Seeking to serve the UAE society and coping with its organizational decisions that are based on the principle of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) is supporting the socio-humanitarian initiative of the national “Al Mawaheb Photography Team” through sponsoring the Team’s shooting of around 100 cultural and artistic photos to be distributed among the community centers for the elderly in the country within the Team’s campaign entitled: «Cheer Your Life»; bearing in mind that there are around five community centers for the elderly spread all over the UAE.
In this respect, H.E. Mohamed Al Ghanim, TRA Board Member & Director General, commented: “We have made it our main objective at the TRA to contribute as much as possible in sponsoring projects and suggestions that serve all aspects of the UAE society. We do believe that a sound economy is derived from a healthy society, which in its turn exists from the individual prosperity, integrity, and self satisfaction and joy that lead to rooted family values resulting in a stable and solid society. Hence, by supporting social prosperity, we are actually contributing in the development of the national economy, which is based on its individuals, to continue coping with the global scientific progress and development.”
In his turn, Mr. Hamad Abdullah Al-Mansouri, President of “Al Mawaheb Photography Team” that encompasses around 100 UAE young men and women, stated: “Al Mawaheb Photography Team is a non-profit institute consisting of UAE national amateur and professional photographers and aims at surfacing their talents and encourage them to create and develop their faculties. Our vision is to contribute in shaping UAE national photographers trained, qualified and capable of representing their country regionally and internationally in a way that reflects the UAE regional and international high statues. Hence, we organize training work shops, courses and competitions where we invite amateur and professional photographers from abroad to interact with the Team’s national photographers and exchange expertise and information. The Team, however, donates its talented work to humanitarian charity that serves the UAE community, where we seek the support of government and private sectors to reach our charitable goals together. Thus, the TRA financial and moral support to our campaign (Cheer Your Life) via sponsoring a project of shooting around 100 artistic, cultural and natural photos to distribute among the community centers for the elderly in the UAE, as a humanitarian gesture reflecting the TRA commitment towards social issues.”
Ms. Najla Al-Mansoori, Manager Communications at the TRA, considered that “it is within the TRA framework to support youth initiatives that would lead to develop the artistic and scientific talents of the UAE nationals, in addition to the effective contribution in the humanitarian and charitable projects and suggestions coping with the TRA founding and organizational principles.” Ms. Al-Mansoori added: “We have chosen this specific campaign to sponsor as an expression of appreciation by the TRA to the founding fathers, insisting in the pride of our Arabian and Islamic values in such a world that is racing towards mercantilism; especially is this Wholly Month of Ramadan. Therefore, we consider this purely humanitarian sponsorship to be the first step on a path that the TRA has chosen to be within its priorities with respect to the policies related to the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).”
