In conformity with its policy of providing a secure electronic environment with limited cyber threats, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) represented by the National Computer Emergency Response Team (aeCERT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai Trade. The MoU aims at joining forces in the IT security field to safeguard the cyber security infrastructure.
As per the MoU, aeCERT will offer its expertise regarding the Dubai Trade electronic security to pave a rewarding cooperation between TRA and Dubai Trade in three areas: network security, electronic systems and IT infrastructure.
Representing the regulatory authority, H.E. Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, Director General, signed the MoU with H.E. Mahmoud Al Bastaki, Director of Dubai Trade, during their participation in GITEX Technology Week among the presence of staff and media elites.
From his side, H.E. Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, Director General of TRA, stated: “The regulatory authority commits to providing its expertise in the field of electronic security for governmental agencies when security threats continue to increase and multiply, thus jeopardizing internet users.”
The general framework of the MoU outlines the planned cooperation which allows aeCERT to deliver the latest standards in line with security performance compatible with the business genre of Dubai Trade. Considered a well-positioned electronic platform, Dubai Trade defines its business as majorly depending on the internet especially when executing daily delegated tasks.
In his turn, H.E. Mahmoud Al Bastaki, Director of Dubai Trade, said: “Dubai Trade deals with delicate information involving clients and trade transactions in Dubai. Therefore, we look into improving the security procedures which in return will secure solid business continuity. aeCERT expertise is considered an added value to our dedicated information security system and an asset that contributes to consistent and safe trade transactions.”
