The National Computer Emergency Response Team (aeCERT), one of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) initiatives, takes part in 3rd annual Chief Information Security Officer Summit & Roundtable (CISO) - Middle East.
The Summit offers an international speaker panel of information security directors and experts that will share real life experiences and views on approaching key security strategies, current threats and responses. The programof the summit has been designed to inspire and reinvigorate the information security strategy with a program dedicated to the upper echelon of the information security profession - the CISO or Head of Information Security.
H.E. Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, TRA Director General, commented on the participation in the CISO Summit saying: “Cyber security has been always a concern for ICT experts. Cyber-crime has evolved into a set of highly specialized, mature criminal products and services –driven by the ability to monetize data and information. Therefore, securing the UAE cyber space is one of our critical tasks.”
Eng. Meshal bin Hussain, aeCERT Head of the Cyber Security Operations, delivered the opening keynote discussing security challenges and national cyber attacks. Furthermore, the keynote shed more light on emerging cyber threats to national security, government information sharing and regional CERT responses and how to promote cyber culture, education and certification on a national level.
The summit took place during January 31 till February 2, in Habtoor Grand Resort Hotel, Dubai. Then event presents a good opportunity to interact with the rapidly changing ICT sector in the Middle East, where corporate CISOs, regional Computer Emergency Response Teams Directors and government dignitaries can meet together.
