The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and ISnSC R&D FZ LLC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in an effort to promote digital security in UAE. The MoU focuses on Government to Business (G2B) and Business to Business (B2B) electronic services.
According to the MoU, ISnSC will be providing AED 10 million worth of its wide range of PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) solutions to entities providing electronic services adhering to or trying to comply with TRA regulations, including The Federal Law No.1 of 2006 on Electronic Commerce and Transactions.
H.E. Mohamed Nasser al Ghanim, Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority commented on the MoU saying: “The TRA is committed to digital environment improvement, and improving safety and users’ confidence in everyday operations, through trusted communications and digital transactions. The UAE already has the necessary regulations in place and such cooperation aims to increase user’s awareness and corporate compliance with current regulations”.
Sherif Hazzaa, Managing Director of ISnSC R&D FZ LLC said highlighting the importance of the MoU: “The UAE has always leaded the PKI efforts in the region and such cooperation will help the implementation and application of the current existing regulations. It is not just a technical move - it is also aligned with UAE environmental strategy. Digital Trust will radically reduce our paper consumption and save energy.”
The MoU focuses on business end-users for online services such as Government Services, Tenders and Procurement, Corporate Banking etc. Plans to extend the facility line to individual end-users will be considered for the future. It will cover business digital security needs such as authentication, encryption and digital signature.
