The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) succeeded in achieving the “Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Award” for Customer Service. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, honored the awarded entities during the ceremony that was held at the Emirates Palace on Monday November 22, 2010.
Attending on behalf of TRA were H.E. Mohamed Bin Ahmed Al Qamzi, Chairman of TRA, and H.E. Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, Director General of TRA. H.E. Al Qamzi expressed glorious delight and pride on the occasion, highlighting the fact that this award endeavor flags the trust and credibility the UAE leadership has put in the performance efficiency of the regulatory in addition to honorably meeting the role assigned to it.
Commenting on the award achievement, H.E. Mohamed Bin Ahmed Al Qamzi, Chairman of TRA, stated: “On behalf of each and every person working in the TRA, I hereby address H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, undertaking an oath to continue on striving to achieve one triumph after the other, contributing to the interest and benefit of the country and its citizens. Furthermore, and on behalf of TRA team, I would like to express my sincere gratitude and recognition to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for the valued trust he has bestowed on us, which we cherish as a badge of honor for every one of us.
H.E. Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, Director General of TRA commented on the TRA’s conquest stating that: “The regulatory has a vision that orients its functionality. This vision has been inspired by our grand leaders, and it is through this vision that we see a promising future that incorporates unsurpassed levels of performance in relation with the ICT sector. By doing so, we guarantee the sector headship for the UAE. This accomplishment means so much to all of us, and it will be the drive towards many more endeavors to come.”
“Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Award” crowns the efforts and successes TRA has accomplished throughout this current year, both on regional and international levels. Moreover, the regulatory grasped several awards that directly serve in carving on stone the UAE leadership role it plays in the ICT sector.
Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Program received and evaluated more than 355 applications from various entities and personnel in 37 different union segments. The participations have undergone four evaluation and assessment phases that covered estimating the applicants followed by visiting and interviewing the qualifiers. Followed by that, the results were passed over to the board of jury for technical assessment. Finally, the result given by the supreme jury where adopted. Furthermore, the committee involved in assessment and evaluation submitted several suggestions and recommendations for the upcoming programs that aim at elevating the performance of the governmental sector and its human resources, in addition to enriching developmental initiations that empower creativity among governmental employees of the union.
The evaluation process was completed as per an internationally adopted practical methodology, passing through elites of assessed qualifiers. The total number of assessors participating in evaluating the “Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Award” reached 53.
