Year of Tolerance
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has launched a series of initiatives, in line with the declaration of 2019 as the “Year of Tolerance” in the UAE, by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
These initiatives reflect TRA’s commitment to the values of tolerance, giving and generosity, as well as promoting these noble values and concepts among the public to enhance tolerance among all segments of the UAE society.
Planting a Ghaf tree
A Ghaf tree has been planted at the entrance of TRA building in Dubai, in the presence of a number of TRA employees and customers.
A dirham of culture... a kantar of happiness
The initiative aims to encourage the spirit of sharing among employees, through donating books to TRA, so the latter could re-sell them for ‘one dirham’. The proceeds of this initiative will go to students’ support through the UAE Red Crescent.

Iftar with senior citizens
The TRA employees visited the “Seniors’ Happiness Centre” and shared Iftar meal with them to deepen the concept of social responsibility, consolidate the values and principles of care and connection, enhance the bonds between the segments of society, and in recognition of the senior citizens’ role since the establishment of the country to this day.
Supporting an Iftar tent in Fujairah through providing iftar meals for 100 people per day during the holy month of Ramadan in collaboration with the UAE Red Crescent.
